Amendment of Ordinance, No.20 of 1923,

Power to
grant medals for extra-
ordinary
An Ordinance to amend the Fire Brigade Ordinance, 1923.
Be it enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with
the advice and consent of the Legislative Council there-
of, as follows:-
1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Fire Brigade
Amendment Ordinance, 1928.
2. Section 2 of the Fire Brigade Crdinance, 1923,
is amended by the addition of the following paragraphs
at the end thereof:-
"It shall also be lawful for the Governor to grant
medals to members of the Brigade, who may distinguish
services, etc. themselves by extraordinary or specially meritorious
services or by long and faithful service, and the Chief
Officer shall report to the Governor any member of the Brigade who may so distinguish himself, stating the
nature of the services".
Such medals shall be of the following four classes
and shall carry in the case of every recipient the following special allowances which shall continue for
so long only as the recipient remains in the Brigade
and shall not be pensionable:-
1st Class Medal, an Allowance of $120 per annum.
2nd Class Medal, an Allowance of $90 per annum.
3rd Class Medal, an Allowance of $60 per annum.
4th Class Medal, an Allowance of $30 per annum.
Any such Medal may be withdrawn by the Governor
if the recipient is subsequently guilty of misconduct".
